Project description: The study involved a detailed investigation and analysis of a range of information and data in order to propose appropriate works for the repair of damages caused by extreme weather conditions on harbours and beaches of Messinia.


Completed works:
  • Final study for six small harbours at Prefecture of Messinia


Works description:
  • Repair damages of Windward quay wall at harbour of Koroni, with composite cross section (seawall with mass concrete units and rubble mound with rock armour units).
  • 150.0m reconstruction of quay wall with wave absorption concrete units (“IGLOO” type), that collapsed under wave attach at the beach and dredging of fishing shelter at Petalidi
  • restoration of damages at harbours and shoreline from Agios Andreas until Kalo Nero. Specifically, the regions that were studied, were the Fishing shelter at Agios Andreas, Kitries, Marathoupoli and Foinikounta
